Economic development

The commune of Vue underwent some architectural changes during its economic expansion in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Tenu, still navigable, was at that time the link between the city of Nantes and the municipalities of the country of Retz. Trade therefore necessarily passed through Vue.

Les négociants

Wealthy merchants from large trading towns quickly settled in Vue. They bought land and built mansions. These are imposing and luxurious houses which are built within the village itself for the same family.

Family homes

The mansions are distinguished from other houses by their architecture and their positioning. They are located away from the street between a courtyard and a garden.
The construction of the Buzay canal, then of the Basse-Loire maritime canal, nevertheless stopped this economic expansion. The river trade no longer passing through the Tenu, Vue then became over the years a rural municipality.
