Presentation

Departing from the town hall of Fresnay, set off to explore the sweet marshes.
Despite an obvious salt-producing past, this part of the marsh is no longer irrigated by salt water.
Less cramped plots, more rectilinear ditches and softer reliefs adjoin the grove.
The soft marsh is an ideal site for many animal species (eels, ducks, avocets, but also nutria ...) and plants and in particular reeds.
The marsh being an artificial marsh, its survival depends on human activities and the maintenance of the hydrolytic networks.
As it is often located lower than the salt marsh, this sometimes generates conflicts of use in water management and especially during the flood season. Indeed, the farmer wants to evacuate the spring water to accelerate the growth of the grass but the oyster farmer wants to be able to capture salt water.
