Presentation

Margareth's beach : between curiosity and intimacy.
A view of one of our local staples.
It's on this beach that you'll have the chance to take a closer look at the symbolic emblem of our region: the fishery. This wooden structure on stilts bears the same name as the beach: La Margareth, which is easy to remember!
All the more reason to visit this beach.  Don't forget your camera to capture your memories!

An intimate address.
Facing due south, this small beach guarantees moments of relaxation in complete confidence and discretion. Nestling between cliffs and rocks, it has everything to please :
  • it is easily accessible from the town of Préfailles
  • it lies on the GR8 footpath and the Vélodyssée/Vélocéan cycle routes
  • it offers high-quality bathing: find out more about the quality of bathing water at Margareth beach by clicking here.
If you're looking for a more extensive beach, then choose Grande Plage. It's just 500 metres from Margareth Beach.

Do you know ?
A number of villas, otherwise known as "the ladies of the coast", are located just above this beach along the corniche. One of them, Villa Valentina, was once used as a convalescent hospital during the First World War. Convalescents would go straight down to Margareth Beach for a swim.
Another villa also bears the same name as the beach: can you find it? Here's a hint: one of its side façades has a straight line of brickwork with a semicircle ...

In short !
Margareth beach will charm you every time. It will satisfy all your desires. Whether you're looking for relaxation, swimming, fishing, hiking or cultural discovery, you'll find what you're looking for on this beach. With family, friends or on your own, Margareth beach is guaranteed to be a pleasant and unforgettable experience.

One last little tip to make the most of this getaway on Destination Pornic: don't forget to check the weather and tides before coming.
