Unusual: The pierced rock

A natural feature that is so emblematic of Préfailles, the Roche percée!

It's at its foot, at low tide, that many children like to measure themselves to feel... very small! Often compared to an elephant because of its unusual shape, the Roche percée is a curiosity to be discovered.

Did you know that?

The gorse heath of Préfailles is the largest in the Loire-Atlantique department.
It is located to the east of the commune, along the wild coast, and extends as far as Sainte Marie-sur-Mer (Pornic).
