The Raymond Devos municipal library in Les Moutiers-en-Retz offers a wide selection of books for all ages.

Open all year round, this cultural space is open to residents, second homes and holidaymakers alike.

More than 3,800 books,
895 books on loan from the Bibliothèque Départementale de Loire-Atlantique,
1,400 children's magazines,
1780 adult magazines,
more than 800 subscribers,
more than 20 volunteers,
1 historical area "Espace Emile Boutin" devoted to the history of Moutiers and the region.

Want to read outside opening hours? There are two freely-accessible book boxes in Moutiers-en-Retz: one in front of the Pré-Vincent beach (near the first-aid post), the other in place de l'Eglise Madame (near the local post office).

Practical information:

Loan conditions: 5 books per person for a maximum of 3 weeks.
Rates: €12 per household per year, free for under-18s and those on minimum income.
Payment: by cheque or cash.

Did you know?
Three people who love Les Moutiers have donated valuable documents to the library. In 2010, Emile Boutin, a local historian, donated his books and research files, mainly on local history. In 2013, René de Cayeux donated his collection of works and magazines relating to navigation. Lastly, Virgilio De Lemos' poetry books have been added to the Espace.
