The Fun Club Joselière, a friendly sailing club, welcomes you from July to the end of August: hire kayaks (single or double) and Stand Up Paddles for an adventure on the waves!

The Joselière Fun Club in Pornic, located on the beautiful Joselière beach, has been specialising in water-based leisure activities for over 30 years. It has a large fleet of Hobie Cat 16 catamarans, sea kayaks and Stand Up Paddle. The club offers rental services to suit all levels of knowledge and experience.

How does it feel to be on board a sea kayak?

You're sitting right on the water, so you're very close to the marine environment. You feel the movements of the water and can even be splashed by the waves or spray, offering a direct sensory experience!
On the other hand, you have direct control over your kayak, using a paddle to navigate. This creates a feeling of mastery and direct connection with the movement of the boat, allowing you to explore areas that other, larger boats can't reach. It's the start of a very exciting adventure!
Although sea kayaking may seem unstable at first, don't panic! Once you've found your balance, you can feel a reassuring stability. This may vary according to water conditions, but generally speaking, sea kayaks are designed to offer a certain degree of stability. Sea kayaking allows you to get up close to marine wildlife, birds and explore remote corners along the coast or in less accessible areas. This proximity to nature creates a unique immersive experience.
Paddling a sea kayak can be a very relaxing experience. The stillness of the water, the coastal scenery and the gentle rhythm of the paddle all contribute to a peaceful and soothing atmosphere.

What about stand-up paddling?

Once you've mastered balance and paddling technique, stand-up paddling can become a relaxing activity. Paddling at a leisurely pace on calm water can create a feeling of serenity and relaxation, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding natural landscape.
SUP engages many muscle groups, particularly the muscles of the trunk, arms and legs, as you use your body to paddle and maintain balance. You may feel a little muscle fatigue at first, but it can become a very invigorating and energising experience afterwards.
Stant-up paddling gives you the freedom to explore different places, whether lakes, rivers or coastal areas. You can discover isolated corners and access places that other boats can't, offering a sense of adventure and exploration.
As well as hiring kayaks and paddles, the Fun Club also offers guided outings, adapted to your level and wishes, to discover the coast from the sea.

The Club provides wetsuits, lifejackets and trapeze belts. Just bring a pair of waterproof shoes!
In addition to its rental activities, the club works to revitalise La Joselière beach, ensure a certain level of safety for other users of the slipway (fishermen, bathers, sailors) and forge links with private individuals who drop off their boats for the summer (the slipway is free and open to all).
