Halfway between Nantes and Pornic, near the Lac de Grand-Lieu nature reserve, the Acheneau and the La Blanche river, the town of Sainte-Pazanne has a multitude of charms and perspectives…

Step 1 – Hikes through the Sainte-Pazanne countryside

Leave your car and set off to explore the “La Roche Saint-Louis” circuit (6.3 km) to enjoy the bocage landscapes and shady paths.
For the "less daring", small walkers, families with pushchairs and other wheeled vehicles, take "La Coulée verte" (1.6 km) accessible to all.
This route is also part of the "Balades à roulettes", a concept of a sporting approach to hiking in line with the abilities of the public. It runs along the village stream.
It is a perfect green setting for observing wildlife and wildlife : biodiversity, eco-grazing, beehives, educational pond...
 

Further on, another walk, another atmosphere: the "Etang de la Beusse" circuit (8.3 km).
Cross typical villages, small hamlets in the heart of the bocage or green fields of alfalfa. A path, in the shade of two hedges that meet, forms a plant vault
But above all there is the Beusse pond. It was developed by farmers for the irrigation of crops. A few fishermen will have cast their lines under the beneficial branches of a tree.
In the early morning or at sunset, the mists coat the landscapes with a magical atmosphere.

Let yourself be seduced by the tranquility of the place.
 

Step 2 – A little gourmet break ?

When the break is essential for a lunch or a snack, find the center of the town, at Bio’Zitive, a store of organic products from local artisans and producers.
Everything to stock up on good things !
Then, direction Le Domaine de la Coche, 36 hectares of vines offering 12 grape varieties. It benefits from the gentle ocean and the proximity of Lake Grand-Lieu for a visit rich in flavors (visit by reservation). From the cultivation of the vine to the tasting through the transformation, Laurent and Emmanuel, the 2 cousins, carry the family torch of this exploitation with high environmental value.
 

Step 3 – Good night friends !

Exhausted by this beautiful day but want to continue the enchanted parenthesis, let yourself be lulled by the song of the birds and the rustle of the leaves in the heart of the Repaire du hibou.
Unusual accommodation for 2 to 5 people, you are in the perfect place to take in the view and forget everything... except simple pleasures. At the edge of a small pond, you will meet a heron offering you its most beautiful profile, a poetic flight of butterflies or simply enjoy the surrounding silence.
Sit on the terrace of your cabin or near the wood stove, enjoy an aperitif board or a good raclette.
 

Step 4 – Sur la Route du Jeu

After a good night's sleep, don't leave without going to the "La Route du Jeu" shop, a real Ali Baba's cave. More than 2000 board games for children and adults !

Practical advice and our good plans

• The Sainte-Pazanne markets take place on Thursdays (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.), place de Retz and on Fridays (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), place du 8 juin (subject to change) but you will find the other markets in the area by clicking here.
• You have no means of transport, no problem, all year round, the bus line (n°13) goes through Sainte-Pazanne (Nantes-Noirmoutier via Villeneuve-en-Retz) but there is also the train (TER N°10 Nantes-Pornic)
• Did you know ? The Notre-Dame de Sainte-Pazanne church has been listed as a historical monument since October 2007. It is also the highest in the Pays de Retz with its bell tower reaching 67 m.
