This family-friendly circular route, number 66, invites you to breathe in the sea air and gaze out towards the horizon. Nestled between cliffs and ocean views, it passes through the Pointe Saint-Gildas Regional Nature Reserve – a veritable balcony overlooking the Atlantic – and the famous Sémaphore, before winding its way past the elegant villas on the cliff-top.
The route then winds its way through a network of peaceful country lanes, lined with hedgerows and meadows, where birdsong accompanies the rhythm of your pedalling.

 
Starting from the tourist office in La Plaine-sur-Mer or from Pointe Saint-Gildas in Préfailles, this cycling getaway invites you to discover the full diversity of the landscapes along the Côte de Jade.
Suitable for everyone, this family-friendly loop alternates between panoramic ocean views, maritime heritage and country lanes, offering a rejuvenating ride between land and sea🌿
Let the sea mist wash over you as you walk along the cliffs of Pointe Saint-Gildas, a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Atlantic.
Walk through the Pointe Saint-Gildas Regional Nature Reserve, home to a wealth of remarkable flora and fauna, before reaching the famous Semaphore, which has stood guard over the coast for over a century.
Along the way, the elegant seaside villas of Préfailles bear witness to the history of this seaside resort facing the ocean 🌊⚓
The route then leaves the coast behind and heads into a peaceful bocage landscape, where hedgerows, meadows and country lanes create a lush green setting. Here, the pace slows down, giving way to the tranquillity of nature. The birdsong, the open countryside and the unspoilt charm of the area offer the perfect break to recharge your batteries on a bike 🍃🐦
Set against a backdrop of vast seascapes, natural heritage and unspoilt countryside, this getaway reveals two complementary sides to the Pornic region.
