GUIDED TOUR : FROM THE MEDIEVAL FORTRESS TO THE SEASIDE CASTLE

Discover the history of the old medieval fortress in ruins that was redesigned throughout the nineteenth century in castle seaside.
The opportunity to cross different rooms of this medieval building transformed into a XIXth century residence that reveals itself to you: living room, dining room, library, without forgetting the rooms at the top of the tower that offer an unobstructed view on the entrance of the ria and the Old Port.

Themes : the castle during the 19th century, the Joubert-Bonnaire family, Gilles de Rais and Joan of Arc, the coats of arms of the owner families, the Wars of Religion and the Wars of the Vendée.

Registration required at the Office de Tourisme Intercommunal de Pornic (no ticket office on site).
Tickets on sale at all Destination Pornic Tourist Offices (La Bernerie-en-Retz, Les Moutiers-en-Retz, La Plaine-sur-Mer, Pornic, Préfailles, Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef and Villeneuve-en-Retz).
You can buy your ticket on our website by clicking on : Online booking
Tours adapted for children over 10.
Free for children under 10, no ticket required.
This tour is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Please bring comfortable shoes to climb the stairs (about 50 steps).
Pets are not allowed.
Photos are permitted.
The castle is not heated, so please wrap up warm in winter.
Please arrive at the meeting point 5 min. before the tour begins.
