Goulaine, the Château...A thousand years of history, architecture and vineyards... 

Château de Goulaine is located at the gateway to Nantes and its vineyards. This jewel of the Renaissance reveals its treasures. Built in a green setting, it is the only castle whose history and architecture link Brittany to the Loire Valley.
  •   Listed as a Historic Monument since 1913 and recognised as a "Château de la Loire" in 2011, just outside Nantes and its vineyards, Goulaine is the only Breton château in the Loire Valley. Built in a green setting, this beautiful Renaissance residence reveals its treasures.
The residence of the same family for almost 1,000 years, its salons bear witness to the decorative richness of the 17th century. From the 16th-century kitchens to the Cabinet de Curiosité and the King's bedroom, cross the centuries and discover the intimacy of the de Goulaine family! 
  • If you want to have fun discovering the castle, take part in the activities: go on a treasure hunt! Youngsters will be delighted to visit the castle in costume, thanks to our fancy dress hire service (from 4 to 12 years old). 
 
  • Looking for souvenirs to take home from your visit? Take a trip to the gift shop, where you can even buy "Marquis de Goulaine" wine. In fact, Goulaine not only refers to a thousand-year-old château, but also to a brand of wine. 
 
  •   The tearoom is also the perfect place to enjoy a gourmet break: discover the Muscadet Millénaire from the "Marquis de Goulaine" Collection! You can also enjoy a craft beer from the "Les Deux Béliers" brewery. Taste the local specialities, terrines Mer or Terre, accompanied by their toasts. If you're more of a sweet tooth, there are Guérande flower of salt biscuits, shortbread and salted butter caramels to satisfy your sweet tooth.
