In the ancient fortified town of Prigny, step back in time and stroll through the narrow streets surrounded by small stone houses. Thanks to its strategic position, the town was an “oppidum” during the Roman conquest. It was used to watch over the Roman roads, both on land and at sea.

Discover a landscape that changes with the seasons

•   Vineyards: Immerse yourself in a world of verdant vineyards. Stroll along the narrow lanes and try to recognize the grape varieties that give rise to the local wines. The ever-changing vineyard landscape offers a different spectacle every season.
• Marshes: Lyarne's marshes stretch as far as the eye can see. Breathe in the iodized air, laden with sea spray, and let yourself be enchanted by the wilderness. If you're lucky, you may even spot a multitude of migratory birds.
•   Exceptional panorama: Armed with your binoculars, admire the unique panorama before you: the marshes, the sea on the horizon... A grandiose spectacle that will leave you speechless.

A journey through time

•   Prigny: Push open the doors of the Chapelle de Prigny and relive a page of history.
• Architectural treasures: Visit Saint-Pierre church and contemplate its magnificent 17th-century listed altarpiece. You can also admire the Lanterne des Morts, a building unique in France, which bears witness to the town's past.

•   Departure : You can start your hike from Prigny or from Place du Général de Gaulle.
•    Duration : 2h15
•    Distance : 9 km
•   Equipment: Bring good walking shoes, a hat, water and binoculars to observe the flora and fauna.

  Please note: from September 1, 2023 (for a minimum of one year), the Chapelle de Prigny will be undergoing renovation work. A small detour has been set up, as the road alongside the chapel is blocked.
