Presentation

The dolmen of La Joselière is a funerary monument, built around 3500 BC in the Middle Neolithic. Accessible by the coastal road, it is located south-east of Pornic, direction La Bernerie to Joselière.
This monument, also known as the "Pissot dolmen", is formed by a partially preserved quadrangular mound, nearly 12 m on each side.
Consisting of a mass of stones laid out flat, it is framed by two rectilinear dry stone walls.
It contains a transept megalithic tomb (crossing of the lateral chambers and the corridor) composed of four well individualized quadrangular lateral chambers served by an axial corridor whose entrance faces south-east.

This dolmen is classified as a historical monument (classification by decree of January 9, 1978).
It was partially restored in 1984.

Situated 250 metres to the east of La Joselière beach, the dolmen can be reached along the coastal path following the fishing huts tour hiking trail.
