Comfortably installed on your "pêcherie", a kind of cabin on stilts equipped with a fishing net, you're in the ideal place to spend quality time with family and friends. We promise that your fishing trips will be unforgettable. So head to Préfailles, and more specifically to the Corniche du Pilier, where La Margareth is enthroned.

Did you know ?

This age-old method of fishing is done without bait ! So it's harmless for the fish, which can be released unharmed.
The carrelet is the name of the net used to catch fish.
You can also fish for plaice in neighbouring Préfailles : find out more about the Govogne fishery in La Plaine-sur-Mer.

How does plaice fishing work ?

The fishery is accessible from the mainland with a co-efficient of at least 70. This unusual and educational site is available from 10.15am to 10am the following day. You can fish for bass, mullet and especially smelt. These little fish are often eaten fried and are a real treat as an aperitif! Don't worry, we'll give you all these details again on the day you arrive. A local authority official will accompany you to the opening of the centre and explain (or re)explain how it works.

Please note :

Payment is made when the contract is signed.
A deposit of €300 will be required on the day of hire.
Registrations open in mid-November each year.
Proof of address will be required for local residents.
The Mairie de Préfailles reserves the right to hire out if weather conditions pose a risk to users and equipment.
The fishery is not equipped with water or electricity (public toilets 400m away).
No more than six people may occupy the fishery.
Fishing activity is suspended from 1 November to 31 March.
