L'atelier des Grisettes, basketry

Christine Celton, a passionate basket-maker, set up theAtelier des Grisettes in spring 2023 to share her passion. She learnt traditional French basketry, but also likes to explore other techniques and materials for ever more original creations.

Curious, Christine continues to learn from different basket-makers and other craftspeople to improve her skills and come up with original creations.

Christine isn't just a basket-maker - she's also a wickerworker ! She grows wicker on a 1500m² plot which she then uses for her creations. She works with both raw and white wicker, mixing traditional techniques with modern ideas.

In her workshop-boutique in Sainte-Pazanne (open by appointment), this professional craftswoman offers a range ofutilitarian objects (baskets, baskets, bannettes, etc.) and decorative items (Christmas and garden decorations, string lights, etc.), mainly using wicker, sometimes embellished with leather or wood.

The strengths of the Atelier des Grisettes :
