Presentation

The Large Beach of Tharon stretches over a kilometer in length, making it one of the largest sandy beaches in the region.
So you'll have plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy the sun. It's an ideal beach for families. 
Backed by a vast dune landscape, Tharon’s Grande Plage offers a pristine setting. Despite its proximity to amenities, it feels like you’re on a secluded beach! In the summer, it gets quite crowded, but thanks to its size, you can still enjoy relative tranquility .
If you have little ones, on your way back from the beach—to end the day on a high note and make everyone happy—be sure to stop by and see Lionel and his Carrousel / Voltige Baroque.

What we  :
  • water sports: the northern part of the beach is reserved for water sports such as sailing, sand yachting, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), and kayaking. If you love the water and water sports, this is the perfect spot for you. So head over to the Cormorane Nautical Center to book your session! 
  • Longe Côte sessions year-round
  • Supervised swimming in the summer: a lifeguard station called “Malibu” ensures swimmers’ safety during the summer season. The swimming area is marked off and cleaned regularly.
  • Colorful beach cabanas (available for rent at city hall)
  • The seasonal beach bar “La Paillote” (cocktails, concerts, and snacks)
  • Accessibility for people with disabilities, with Tiralos available at the lifeguard station in the summer and at the Nautical Center during the off-season
  • The Grand Escalier, adorned in its distinctive blue and white colors, overlooking the beach. . Be sure to remember its name, as many concerts are held there in the summer!
  • Les p'tits chefs beach club, where kids can even learn to swim!
  • Its proximity to the famous Pêcherie Bleue and the community fishing boat, which you can rent.
