Les Roches dorées - La Rinais beach

Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet of a small beach with soft sand and the special charm of the coastline.
From plage de la Rinais, you can take the famous customs path to Pornic. It's a bit of a challenge to find and climb the steps cut into the cliff near the little turret, but it's well worth the effort - it's a magnificent spot. If you're worried about the difficulty, you'll find much clearer and easier access to the path from the next beach, Boutinardière. Follow the bottom of the cliffs at low tide!

Heading towards La Bernerie, the rocky coastline offers a wide range of shades, from grey to amber to rusty red.
Sources of ferruginous water run through the rock face, giving it this colour. You'll notice that there's still a tap set into the cliff. In the last century, people who took the waters came here to drink to their health.
Your eyes will be drawn to this strange hexagonal tower at the top of the cliff. This is the VORUZ Tower, a privileged vantage point on the estate known as "Voruzerie". Mr Voruz was a wealthy shipowner from Nantes who owned this property. The remains of his personal port can still be seen near the beach.
