Necropolis of La Motte = Tumulus des mousseaux + site of the three skeletons
An eventful visit! In 2023, to coincide with the exhibition devoted to Baron Olivier de Wismes by the town of Pornic, the visit to the Tumulus des Mousseaux will be combined with the discovery of the nearby site of the three skeletons in the private property of Jacques RAVAUT and Elizabeth Donnely.

The human presence is very old in the Pays de Retz. The town of Pornic has a remarkable Neolithic site without equivalent in the Loire-Atlantique.
The town of Chauvé is not to be outdone. Patrice MORETTE-BOURNY and Serge BREMOND, members of the "Association Mégalithes en Retz" reveal the secrets of this site.

Some of these sites are listed as historic monuments.

  • Registration required at the Pornic Intercommunal Tourist Office.
  • Tickets on sale at all Destination Pornic Tourist Offices (La Bernerie-en-Retz, Les Moutiers-en-Retz, La Plaine-sur-Mer, Pornic, Préfailles, Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef and Villeneuve-en-Retz) or book online.
  • Meeting point given when booking.
  • Bring comfortable shoes.
  • Visits recommended for children aged 10 and over.
  • Animals are not accepted.
  • The organisers reserve the right to cancel the tour if weather conditions are unfavourable or if the minimum number of participants required 24 hours before the tour (5 paying participants) is not met.
