Presentation

Jean-Simon Voruz, a wealthy industrialist from Nantes, had a property built towards the end of the 19th century on the place called "Roches Grises" consisting of an Italian-style holiday home framed by a large landscaped park and a magnificent octagonal tower.
The estate overlooks one of the most beautiful sites on the coast of the Pays de Retz. The sulfur and amber colored cliffs play with the light and tell the story of the mineral and geological world.
The owner arrived by the estuary of the Loire and reached his property by steam yacht which he moored on a small jetty at the bottom of the cliff. Remains of this small harbor are still visible today. You can access the cliff at low tide and admire the place by taking a step back on the foreshore.
The panorama is even more impressive when you have the opportunity to come there at high tide by paddle, kayak or any other boat. Then you will be the privileged spectator of the domain and its golden cliff ranging from straw yellow to the colors of scorched earth.
