  150 years of the Nantes-Pornic line: a living legacy, an ambition for tomorrow!  

To mark the 150th anniversary of the Nantes-Pornic railway line, the Pays de la Loire region, the town of Pornic, the SNCF group, the Sud Loire Océan association and Pornic Agglo Pays de Retz are unveiling an exceptional programme: exhibitions, events, historic trains and a festive village will punctuate the summer until Heritage Days, the highlight of this celebration  

Celebrating 150 years of the Nantes-Pornic railway line means paying tribute to a collective history that has shaped the Pays de Retz region. Since its inauguration in 1875, this line has accompanied the region's development, transporting generations of travellers, families, workers and holidaymakers, and contributing to the economic and tourist boom of the Jade coast. It has weathered periods of prosperity, crises and change, without ever losing sight of its purpose: to bring people together and open up new horizons. It is now preparing to enter a new era with an ambitious modernisation project scheduled for completion in 2032: increased frequency, new facilities and improved service to meet the mobility needs of tomorrow. 

As part of European Heritage Days on 20 and 21 September, climb aboard a historic train and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this iconic line! When you arrive by train at Pornic station, a brass band will guide you to the event village, where you can enjoy local produce tastings, exhibitions, games and entertainment  

From 10.30am to 6pm, come to the Ria esplanade to find:

• a festive village hosted by numerous participants (region, agglo, tourist office, SNCF)
• an exhibition of railway objects, photos and archives, models
• 18 stands featuring local producers spread over two days: farms, honey, beers, basketry, biscuits, herbal teas, rums, pottery, salt, seaweed, syrups and herbal teas, spirits, etc.
