What to see in Saint-Michel
We welcome you to the heart of nature in Saint-Michel, with its vast, unspoilt natural spaces and its rugged, unspoilt coastline.Over 4 km of family beaches
The Grande Plage de Tharon is one of the largest stretches of fine sand in the region. At low tide or high tide, you'll always find activities to share with your children: being very small at the foot of the fisheries or digging for shells when the sea goes out, swimming and playing ball in the water when it comes back in ! There are no rocks, just wide-open spaces for safe afternoon fun.Another local gem also delights the crowds: Gohaud beach. Its golden sands and uninterrupted ocean views will win you over. The beach is subject to the wind, and offers another spectacle: the dance of surfers between the waves, experienced paragliders and kites.
Les Terres Rouges, cliffs of an incomparable ochre colour
Nearby Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef has even more surprises in store for you: the Terres Rouges attract nature lovers with their reddish-orange rocks. The coastal path is a must for exploring this exceptional site. You'll discover protected flora and fauna in a setting between sea and cliffs.❤️ The team's favourite : we love the Terres Rouges at sunset! It's at this precise moment that the light of dusk and the stone of the rocks become one... A blazing spectacle !
Where to eat in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef?
Looking for the best places for lunch in Saint-Michel? Here are 3 suggestions that will delight your taste buds.
Picnic with your feet in the sand
For a memorable experience, opt for a picnic to be enjoyed at the foot of a fishery on La Grande Plage de Tharon. This spot allows you to soak up the maritime atmosphere while savouring your favourite dishes. Don't know which one to choose ? One of the most photogenic on the Côte de Jade is the blue fishery at Tharon !
Crêpes and galettes overlooking the ocean
If you prefer to try our local specialities in a more traditional setting, the Crêperie de La Source is the perfect place for you. Ideally situated opposite the Grand Plage de Tharon, this crêperie offers a delicious selection of crêpes, galettes and moules frites (depending on the season). Prepared with local produce (Curé Nantais, Bouchot mussels from La Plaine-sur-Mer, strawberries from La Fraiseraie, etc.), these dishes won't leave you wanting for more. You'll be licking your fingers!
Le Garde-Manger: the delicatessen you've been waiting for !
Nestling in the heart of Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef, next to the church, Le Garde-Manger offers a range of Asian, vegetarian and local dishes. On the premises or to take away, you'll find a tasty and balanced selection to satisfy every taste.

Idea for a visit: Arielle M.'s studio, a complete artist
If you decide to take a stroll along the Tour de la Commune route, we recommend that you turn off at Avenue Ernest Chevrier and stop off at Arielle M.'s workshop : it's the perfect place to meet during your day in Michelo!Just a stone's throw from the Grand Plage de Tharon, you'll be greeted by Arielle Maguet, a talented artist specialising in fusing, painting on porcelain and glass. You'll have the chance to admire her work or to buy unique products such as wall trays, jewellery and lighting. In your Tharon-Plage Tourist Office, of course! Open all year round and 7 days a week in July and August, you'll find authentic products to bring home a little of the warm atmosphere of Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef.5 gifts to take home :
- the Tharon / Saint-Michel "baoûle" tray : a regional craft made by cabinetmaker Hugues Hervy. These famous "baoûles", which give a new lease of life to objects from yesteryear, were once fish crates and are now colourful trays perfect for breakfasts or aperitifs! What will you choose? The tray with the effigy of Saint-Michel or the one from Tharon-Plage?
- Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef souvenir medals : collectors beware! Discover our medals issued by the Monnaie de Paris.
