Immerse yourself in Marcel Aymé’s darkly comic and exhilarating world through a unique dramatised reading, brought to life by the actor Éric Chartier.

This performance highlights the author’s astonishing modernity, exploring both his distinctly French sense of humour and his role as a forerunner of the absurd – Kafka’s Latin cousin:
  • Three short stories: On a country road, two murderers on the run cross paths and compete in bad faith to justify their crime, soon joined by a third accomplice. A text in which the horror of femicide is transformed, through the grotesque nature of the situations, into irresistible laughter.
  • Rue Saint-Sulpice: Mr Normat, a struggling retailer of religious artefacts, finally finds the ideal model to portray Jesus: a former convict fresh out of prison. Success is immediate, but the model quickly gets carried away, to the point of identifying completely with his role, triggering a cascade of comical and offbeat twists and turns.
