What’s on
Set off to discover a vast tapestry of human life in the heart of the mountains of the Far East and the Golden Triangle.
Long isolated in the remote regions of southern China (the provinces of Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and Guangxi), the Hmong-Miao, Dong, Bouyei and Akha form a mosaic of ethnic groups with a fascinating cultural heritage. Over the centuries, these peoples have managed to preserve their customs and identity in the face of Chinese domination.
Following initial trips to China, Laos and Vietnam in the 1980s and 1990s, director Patrick Bernard and his team returned to meet them again in 2024 and 2025. This exceptional documentary, presented on stage by its director, recounts these reunions and the unforgettable moments shared with the mountain peoples.
