Presentation

From nighttime in Rezé to dawn on the wild coast: the Atlantic'Trail is back!
The Atlantic'Trail revives an iconic event that began in the 1980s and disappeared in 2003: a night-time trail hike that took participants from Rezé to the wild coast at dawn, before returning to the port of Pornic.

More than twenty years later, this event is being revived to offer a unique experience at a time when trail running is enjoying a real boom.
With distances ranging from 10 km to 80 km, the route crosses marshes, hedgerows, and coastline, passing through Sainte-Pazanne, Les Moutiers-en-Retz, and La Bernerie-en-Retz. It offers total immersion in the diversity of the region's landscapes, between unspoiled nature and sea air.

The Atlantic'Trail aims both to revive a local sporting tradition and to allow participants to (re)discover an exceptional region, between land and ocean.

  Route details:
  • Departure: 4 a.m., headlamps on, from Place du 8 Mai 1945 in Rezé.

The adventure begins in the night, headlamps on and legs light, for a warm-up of about 20 kilometers on a fairly rolling section with a slight elevation gain. Head towards Saint-Aignan-Grandlieu, where the first refreshment station awaits you at the 24 km mark.
Relay: first solo section
  • Second part of the route: the terrain gets tougher. It goes up, it goes down, it's hilly... enough to really test your thighs until the 40 km mark, where the refreshment station in Sainte-Pazanne will be more than welcome

But smile: you're halfway there!
Relay: second independent leg
  • Third segment: another 20 km to go, on a generally even section with a gentler gradient.

The last refreshment station awaits you in Les Moutiers-en-Retz, where you can recharge your batteries before the final stretch.
Relay: last solo leg
  • Finally, the last section—the most beautiful and symbolic—along the ocean.

Look up, breathe, enjoy: the scenery is worth it!
  • At the 70 km mark, it's the home stretch: 10 km left to climb and savor before crossing the finish line.
