The horseshoe cemetery at Saint-Hilaire
It's no coincidence that the walk begins at the horseshoe cemetery in Saint-Hilaire-de-Chaléons. Unique in Europe, this circular cemetery features a magnificent monumental calvary and a chapel at its centre. Paying homage to the victims of the Vendée wars, the calvary was built in the 19th century at the request of Curé Viollet, who fought alongside the Vendéens and General de Charette against the Republicans in 1793.A must-see hop stop at the "D'ici l'aurore" brewery
