Live conference by Michel GERMAIN: Follow in the wake of a maritime legend!

The Royal Old Yacht Club of Pornic invites you to a special lecture dedicated to the KURUN, the famous Norwegian cutter that made sailing history with its round-the-world voyage (1949–1952).

Hosted by Michel Germain, the ship’s skipper, a Doctor of Letters, and author of the definitive book on the subject, this event will introduce you to the legacy of Jacques-Yves Le Toumelin. Through historical anecdotes, a passion for shipbuilding, and tales of the sea, Michel Germain will share his expertise on this legendary sailboat, now classified as a Historic Monument and a true ambassador of Pornic’s heritage.

A unique opportunity to sail through the history of classic yachting with words

  • Speaker: Michel Germain, member of the Literary Academy of Brittany and the Loire Region
  • Note for members: For YCRO members, the lecture will be followed by a social dinner (fee required; reservations recommended through the club)
