Épices et Couleurs: a new gourmet shop in Pornic
In the heart of Pornic town centre, Épices et Couleurs invites you on a true gourmet adventure. Behind this new gourmet shop, Guénaël and Virginie have created a place where people come as much to discover new products as to share a convivial moment centred on fine food.

After more than thirty years in the retail trade, notably developing his knowledge of spices across France, Belgium and the overseas territories, Guénaël wanted to bring a more personal project to life. Passionate about cooking and culinary products, he teamed up with Virginie, who brings a wealth of experience in the food industry, to create a delicatessen in Pornic that prioritises quality, expert advice and discovery.

A sensory journey through spices
As soon as you step inside, the aromas of spices fill the shop and set the tone. Here, flavours from around the world sit alongside local produce in a carefully curated and ethically sourced selection.
The organic spice bar is one of the shop’s signature features. It offers peppers, aromatic herbs, culinary blends and original creations to help you reinvent your everyday cooking.

Among the treasures waiting to be discovered, the famous Kampot pepper takes pride of place. Available in white, red or black, it comes from a pepper farm that has been recognised for the exceptional quality of its produce and its social commitment. Just a few turns of the mill are enough to transform a dish and reveal the full richness of its flavours.

Sweet treats to tantalise the taste buds
Lovers of sweet flavours will be spoilt for choice. Over fifty varieties of jam sit alongside honeys from the Pays de Retz, perfect for accompanying a gourmet breakfast.

When it comes to chocolate, Épices et Couleurs showcases leading French houses such as Marc Cluizel and François Pralus, as well as a hidden gem from Nantes: Acaoyer. This chocolate maker works using the ‘bean-to-bar’ method, from bean to bar. Among the must-try items is a 70 per cent dark chocolate enhanced by muscovado sugar, which gives it a unique aromatic depth, and a 100 per cent chocolate from a Ugandan plantation offering a particularly smooth finish on the palate.

To prolong the pleasure, the shop also offers babas by the Michelin-starred chef Luc Mobihan from Saint-Malo, nougat, toffees and other artisanal treats.

Exceptional products for cooking and sharing
Épices et Couleurs selects products that make you want to sit down to a meal.

Olive oils take pride of place, particularly those from A L’Olivier, founded in 1822. Alongside the great classics, you’ll find more surprising combinations such as fennel and pink peppercorns or smoked paprika, ideal for adding an original touch to everyday cooking.

Lovers of gourmet appetisers will appreciate the 100% vegetable-based and 100% French spreads, the spicy sauces made in Nantes from locally grown chillies, as well as a fine selection of crackers, olives and other nibbles to share.

Exceptional teas, coffees and distinctive spirits
The experience continues with the drinks.
The prestigious Betjeman & Barton, a leading name in tea since 1919, is represented by 66 varieties of tea, herbal teas and rooibos. From delicate blends to bolder creations, there’s something for everyone.

Spirits enthusiasts, meanwhile, can discover an original selection, including Papa’s Pilar rum – a tribute to Ernest Hemingway’s famous boat – and the Ma Doudou flavoured rums, emblematic of Saint-Martin and recognisable by their hand-painted bottles featuring paint produced in the Pays de la Loire region.
