We'd like to tell you a little more about Pointe Saint-Gildas...

Its name comes from Saint-Gildas, a historical and legendary figure from the region, who is said to have landed here several centuries ago. It offers breathtaking views over the Loire estuary on one side and the Bay of Bourgneuf on the other.
This rocky headland at the westernmost tip of the Pays de Retz in the commune of Préfailles is the perfect destination for fishermen and all fishing enthusiasts.

An ideal spot for different types of fishing.

On foot : RDV to the right of the pier, on the beach. A veritable playground awaits you. With luck and patience, you can unearth some of the treasures of the sea : barnacles, periwinkles, clams... Here are a few tips to make sure you don't come back empty-handed.
Angling : head for the jetty, opposite the Préfailles sailing school, to use your rod and reel in some fish for friends and family or to take home.

You can get there on foot via the GR8 or by bike via the Vélodyssée/Vélocéan, routes linking other neighbouring coastal towns.
