Préfailles, with its breathtaking landscapes, reveals itself to you through the painters' circuit. Created in 2010 and 2012, this art trail has now been revamped with an enhanced version. From Pointe Saint-Gildas to Port aux Goths, and on to the heart of the village, 23 display panels invite you to follow in the footsteps of the artists who, since the 19th century, have been captivated by the Jade Coast and the Pays de Retz. Among them are renowned artists such as Luc-Olivier Merson, Henri Lebasque, René Rousseau-Decelle and Raoul du Gardier, as well as talented amateur painters such as Arthur Rathouis, André Veilleux and Paul Messac – all of whom were enamoured with Préfailles. Four contemporary artists – Astrid de Chaillé, Caroline Cornuault-Cousquer, François Ketelers and Isabelle Hillel – are featured on this trail. These works, created between 1862 and 2012, offer you a glimpse into the history of painting, transforming your walk into a veritable open-air gallery. Take note
