The Tharon-Plage food market is the ideal place to buy fresh, local produce in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef !
Come and stroll through this small market in the centre of Tharon every Saturday morning from September to June and buy seasonal local produce. You'll often be served by a team of courageous young Michelois students who come to lend a hand to the street vendors. They're sure to give you a warm welcome ! 

You'll find
  • fresh fruit and vegetables from a variety of stalls, including the stall run by "Stan et Véro", who have been at the market for decades, are well known to everyone and are the former owners of the Tharon-Plage grocery shop "le cours des Halles"
  • meat and charcuterie, with the famous Bernier charcuterie and Serge's stall, also well known at the market for his humour and the quality of his 'home-made' products
  • fish, with a range of fishmongers, including two who have been regulars for several years, "Barbe" and "le Coeur de l'Océan". You'll have a choice of fish and seafood straight from the Le Croisic fish auction
  • dairy products including those from the local Gineau farm and the famous Beillevaire cheese dairy egg
  • rolls and Asian specialities
  • in winter, honey and roasted chestnuts
  • in spring, knick-knacks (jumpers, dresses, belts, bags, etc.) and many other delights...

  • indulge in local specialities, such as oysters from the Bay of Bourgneuf

And if you can't find what you're looking for among all these shoppers, there are two bakeries, a grocery shop "le cours des halles" and a butcher's shop in the centre of Tharon. And don't hesitate to take a well-deserved break on one of the café terraces.
