Pornic Bars and Restaurants Association — The Waiters’ and Waitresses’ Race (2026 Edition)   

   What’s on

Come and watch a madcap, festive race full of good humour right in the heart of Pornic! Over 100 waitresses and waiters will set off carrying trays laden with glasses and bottles, determined to reach the finish line without spilling a single drop.

This 2026 edition is marked by tribute and emotion, as it is dedicated to François Effling, an iconic figure in the local catering industry who worked tirelessly for the trade for decades and pioneered the famous fancy-dress race of yesteryear. To honour his memory, participants are warmly invited to dress up in fancy dress to earn extra points!

The route will pass through several establishments once run by François Effling, before finishing in style.
Come along in large numbers to cheer on the participants!

  • Arrival and prize-giving: at 5.00 pm at the Château Bar & Restaurant
  • Organiser: Pornic Bars and Restaurants Association (with the support of local establishments)
