Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your background before setting up Racing Kart Jade?

I’ve been passionate about motorsport and Formula 1 racing since I was seven. Michael Schumacher was my idol! After winning races in a regional championship for several years, I’ve always maintained a very strong connection with karting.
Setting up Racing Kart Jade was a natural step: here, I can combine my passion with the pleasure of introducing as many people as possible to this sport.

How did R.K.J. come about in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef?

Following a career change and the opportunity to take over an existing karting track in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef, I set about creating Racing Kart Jade.
The aim: to offer an accessible, friendly and safe leisure activity in a pleasant setting just a stone’s throw from the sea. The site has gradually developed over the last few years to become a leading attraction in the region. We are constantly working to improve our facilities and infrastructure and to offer an ever-better experience. Whether it’s the equipment or visitor comfort, we are always evolving.

The site offers several tracks:
Can you explain the differences between the adult, junior and baby tracks?

Yes, we’re lucky enough to offer several tracks suitable for all ages and all levels:

A 700-metre track with elevation changes for adults and teenagers aged 14 and over
A 320-metre circuit, specially designed for children aged 7 to 13, with adapted karts
A baby kart track is reserved for little ones aged 3 to 6.

On the first two tracks, drivers can see their lap times on display boards.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced driver, there’s something for everyone.

And then there’s the atmosphere: people come here as much to have fun as to enjoy each other’s company.

Who is Racing Kart Jade aimed at, and what kind of experiences can visitors enjoy here?

Everyone! Families, groups of friends, companies… It’s the perfect activity for celebrating a special occasion or simply taking on a challenge with family, friends or colleagues.
We therefore host a wide range of events, such as birthdays, stag and hen parties, and corporate seminars.

We also offer various packages, including “Grand Prix”-style races with practice sessions, qualifying rounds and finals.
This is very popular, as it recreates the conditions of a real competition, always in a fun spirit.
In July and August, a “Holidaymakers’ Grand Prix” is held every evening at 7pm.

What are your visitors looking for these days when they come go-karting?

They come to let off steam, share a unique experience and create memories.
Go-karting ticks all the boxes: fun, accessible and a bit competitive… just the right mix!

Safety is essential in this activity:
how do you support riders, both beginners and experienced ones?

Safety is our top priority.
Before each session, we hold a clear briefing that everyone can understand.
Our meticulous team is on hand at all times to supervise, advise and reassure.
They keep a close eye on every run.

🏁 The idea is for everyone to have fun with complete confidence.

And how does your activity fit into the local tourism offering?

We complement the region’s other activities.
After a day at the beach or a walk, coming for a go-karting session offers a change of pace and a different experience.

Do you have any anecdotes or memorable moments to share?

There are plenty!
But what stands out most for me are the families who come back every year.
Having looked after 7-year-olds at their birthday parties and then seeing them return at around 16 or 17 to drive more powerful karts is incredibly rewarding.

If you had to convince someone to try karting for the first time, what would you say to them?

That they should come and give it a go because being almost lying flat on the ground, in complete safety, gives you the thrills and unique sensations of motor racing… for a reasonable price 😉

What’s your favourite spot in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef?

The coastal path, also known as the GR®8, near Gohaud. It’s a place I’m particularly fond of for its wild and unspoilt character.
You walk right alongside the ocean, passing traditional fishing huts and cliffs with orange-red hues that offer a striking contrast to the blue of the sea. Depending on the light and the tides, the landscape transforms and becomes almost unique every time you visit.
It’s the perfect place to recharge your batteries, take your time… and fully enjoy the beauty of the coastline.
