5 spots for a quiet picnic
FICHE_INFO_TITRE_ACCESSIBILITE
It's great to be able to enjoy the sunny days on the Atlantic coast with your
family
. At last, it's time to get out the barbecue and cool box and prepare some fresh food. It's also a good time to stop off at one of our favourite
producers
to put together a fantastic
picnic
for all the family! The only thing we might miss is the peace and quiet away from the crowds. Don't panic, your favourite tourist office has put together this article to help you find the perfect place for your next outdoor lunch, dinner or aperitif with your nearest and dearest.

Tribes in search of nature

1 - The Parc de Chauvé: areas laid out for lunch
The Chauvé leisure park has it all! It's the ideal place for a
southern meal
in the open air. The children can play on the
playground
, enjoy the
pump track
and play on the
zip line
, while the adults enjoy a game of
pétanque
or
fishing
. Maybe you'll catch the day's meal
! For an impromptu read in the grass, the park is also equipped with a book box.
3 local producers for a successful picnic :
La charcuterie Bernier
: ham, pork rillettes, pâté de campagne, grilled sausages... Laurent Bernier offers home-made charcuterie made from Label Rouge farmhouse pork.
La Brioche Buton
: a family business going back over 60 years, specialising in the production of Viennese pastries. Brioches, pains au lait, Breton cakes, crêpes, confectionery, chocolates... Something for all the family!
Maud's farm
: 2 minutes from the park by car, 5 minutes by bike, Maud Savina grows organic fruit and vegetables! Seasonal produce with the Agriculture Biologique (AB) label, bought direct from the farm! Young lettuce shoots, juicy tomatoes, crunchy vegetables... All you need to make a delicious mixed salad!
There's also a bakery very close to the park to help you make your meal.
The Parc de Chauvé : it's here !
2 - Picnic at Bois Roy in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef
Just a stone's throw from the sea,
Bois Roy
offers a magnificent, peaceful setting for a family picnic. With its children's
games
and
wooden tables
, it's the ideal place to meet up with friends and family after a morning swim. In this shady spot, bordered by large holm oaks, visitors can enjoy the coolness of this open-air playground, which is very much appreciated in the middle of summer.
❤️
The team's favourite
After lunch, take your children on a
discovery tour of the Bois Roy
! There are several circuits to choose from, and you can set off in search of hidden
markers
in the forest. You can download the maps online or pick them up at the
Tharon Tourist Office
. All you have to do is punch your maps, so get your compasses ready!
Are you in the mood ?
3 - Picnic on the banks of the Blanche at Buzon
Sunday lunch
often goes hand in hand with a summer walk !
Buzon
, a small, isolated village in the heart of the Rouans marshes, invites you to unwind for a lovely break. Alongside the
Vieille Blanche
canal, the Buzon picnic area will keep you cool thanks to the majestic poplars that surround you. Enjoy a
local dish
with your children while discovering a bit of history by walking part of the
"Le Grand Chemin" trail
.
💡
Did you know?
The village of Rouans was the setting for the
film "Le Grand Chemin"
directed by Jean-Loup Hubert in 1986. The film tells the story of Louis, a 9-year-old Parisian boy, who is entrusted by his mother to Marcelle and Pélot, played by Anémone and Richard Bohringer, a couple of friends living in Rouans. Young Louis befriends Martine, the couple's daughter, and gradually discovers the joys and difficulties of country life...
Buzon : a timeless village
4 - L'étang du Val Saint-Martin in Pornic: a peaceful spot for lunch
With its 150,000 square metres,
the Val Saint-Martin pond
offers a
peaceful setting
far from the hustle and bustle of summer. Families can enjoy
3 picnic areas
with wooden tables, children's
play areas
, a
zip line
, a
boules pitch
(don't forget that the boulistes association is often based here!), shared
barbecues
and
fishing
spots. Or perhaps you'd prefer to take a break on a picnic blanket by the pond ? Whichever you choose, Val Saint-Martin is a perfect spot for lunch in the Pornic hinterland. The joys of the city in the middle of the
countryside
!
📌
Good to know
Fishing spots are accessible all year round to season ticket holders, from sunrise to sunset. They can have a maximum of 4 lines grouped within easy reach.

5 - A barbecue along the banks of the Acheneau at Port-Saint-Père
The Acheneau
offers a peaceful setting for salads and barbecues with the whole family. Situated between
Lac de Grand-Lieu
and the
Canal de Buzay
, it's another ideal place to recharge your batteries in summer.
The Port de la Morinière
is perfect for a summer picnic! A great spot in the calm of the summer hustle and bustle, in the shade of lush green barns. You'd almost forget its amazing history, linked to the salt trade and the transport of materials and goods.
👍
Activities not to be missed
La Puillière educational farm
: discover
animals
for children and
local produce
for adults!
Escapade Nature
: why not try your hand at
electric boating
,
kayaking
or
pedal-boating
on the river as a family?
The church Saint Pierre
: just a stone's throw from the village of Port-Saint-Père, discover its
historic monuments
and in particular its 19th-century neo-Gothic church.
