Presentation

This is the place to be if you're an angler or a walker looking for unspoilt countryside!
Walkers and hikers will love this stretch of coastline (part of the GR8), which passes along Pornic's "Les pêcheries" walking trail.
From the Fontaine aux Bretons, head south-east (to the left as you look out over the ocean) to reach the Monval moors overlooking the coastal path.
At the end of the route, the most courageous will pass the Boutinardière beach to reach La Bernerie-en-Retz.

Along the way, they'll discover the Prédaire dolmen, whose artefacts were recovered during excavations at the end of the 19th century and are now housed in the Musée Dobrée in Nantes.
The walk can continue across the Monval moor behind the dolmen, a greener, more secluded landscape where holm oaks and pines create an undergrowth atmosphere. You can also continue along the coastal path below.
If you continue along the coastal path, you will see the small Château de Monval dating from 1855, a family home belonging to the Nantes diocesan association.
Continuing along the GR8, the rocky coastline of La Bourtinardière can be made out against the backdrop of a string of fisheries. When the sun goes down, the rock takes on luminous yellow hues above the golden-red sandy beach...

Whether you're an amateur or an experienced angler, you'll be king here! Between the Fontaine aux Bretons and the Plage de la Boutinardière, you'll find an abundance of species to collect.
The rocks are covered with oysters, so make sure you have a knife or a spatula! Oysters can be eaten on the spot or taken away, subject to the size and quantity authorised.
If you prefer grey or pink prawns, you can fish for them in this area. All you need is a landing net for the holes or a large net for the sandy bottoms.
Sea bream, also known as limpets or Chinese hats, periwinkles and green crabs are also available.
